Freedom of Choice

Project Statement

We all have constraints.

Some worn on the surface as a beautiful disguise.

Some buried deep.

When we start to unravel we start to live,

we start to grow,

we feel pain,

we feel joy.

We breathe in new life.

Only when we are free of our constraints can we evolve.

Only when we are free we can truly live.

We emerge bare and defenseless.

Hardly a leg to stand on,

barely a hand to grasp.

We struggle to find our worth,

our place.

Then we see ourselves clearly, possibly for the first time.

But naked to the world, butterfly on its first breeze.

We don’t last long.

We go back to what we know.

We wrap ourselves in guilt,

shame,

regret,

disgust.

Covering up the hope,

the truth,

the beauty.

We retreat.

Alone.
